Nami Island, located nearby the Bukhangang River in Bangha-ri, Namsan-myeon, Chuncheon, is well-known as Korea’s representative themed tourist attraction. Nami Island uses the “Namimara Republic” with the concept of “the one and only republic of imagination sharing its beautiful fairy tales and songs with guests from all over the world.” Nami Island is a charming tourist destination that is in harmony with the natural ecosystem and culture & arts. It provides beautiful walking paths, such as Metasequoia Lane, Gingko Tree Lane, Korean Pine Tree Lane, and Reed Woods Lane, and cultural and art spaces, such as Picture Book Library, Handicraft Studio, UNICEF Hall, and Song Museum. As it is Korea’s first UNICEF Child Friendly Park, there are many spaces for children, including a playground and a library. It also offers diverse entertaining rides, such as electric cars and family bikes, various experience activities combined with the concepts of environment, recycling, and arts, and restaurants and coffee shops. Visitors can enjoy fantastic views of the landscape for each season: the splendid Cherry Tree Lane in spring, refreshing Metasequoia Lane and outdoor water park in summer, colorful foliage in autumn, and the brilliant snowy scene in winter. Hotel Jeonggwanru is also located inside the Island. This hotel consists of the main building with guestrooms designed by artists, and the annex near the riverside.
